"Sunset and evening star and one clear call for me, and may there be no mourning at the bar when I put out to sea. Norma Jean Roberts, daughter of the late Willie Mae St. Clair Roberts and Deacon Allen Roberts departed this life on Saturday December 18th in the Hampton Regional Hospital Varnville, SC. Ms. Roberts, 69, was a graduate of Wade Hampton High School, Varnville, SC and Palmer College of Charleston, SC. A member of Wilkerson Missionary Baptist Church, Early Branch, SC, she was the retired secretary for the Mother Emmanuel AME Church, Charleston, SC. Her memory shall forever be treasured by family and friends.

Visitation: Wednesday, December 22, 2021 5-7 pm in the Chapel of Young Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: Thursday, December 23, 2021 11:00 am Wilkerson Church Cemetery, 21424 Pocotaligo Rd., Early Branch, SC.

All services will be conducted in compliance with the CDC GUIDELINES IN RESPONSE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC...FACIAL COVERINGS AND SOCIAL DISTANCING.

Missing you a lot right now

Norma and I were classmates at Wade Hampton. We were fortunate to share some classes. My favorite was Home Economics. We had a great time and laughed at one another. Best class, best of friends. I am very saddened by her passing, but will see her again.🙏🏻🙏🏻😔

To the family of Norma Jean. I met Norma Jean 40 plus years ago through her cousin/friend Bettye Jean Brock. Bettye Jean and I worked together at MUSC and Norma Jean worked at Mother Emanuel. She used to pick us up for lunch all the time. From the first day I met Norma Jean, she had a beautiful smile and personality. We had some good times at lunch and I will always remember how beautiful and humble she was. She fought a good fight and may her soul rest in peach. I met Norma back in 1972 at Palmer college in Charleston , she was such a beautiful and kind person that you would always love to be around .I considered her a dear friend and some one that I could always talk to about different things that were happening in my life .
