Obituary For Mrs. Lina Yancey

On Sunday, March 15, 2020 our beloved mother, Linda C. Yancey spread her wings when God called her home. A private funeral will be held 1:00PM on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at Mt. Zion AME Church, 1422 Huffine Mill Road, Greensboro, NC. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

She was the daughter of the late Efford and Ossie Crutchfield. She was born on November 15, 1936 in Chatham County. Linda loved her family, friends and any one she came in contact with. She was a member of Mount Zion AME Church, where she was a member of the Senior Choir, Usher Board, and Missionary Board.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Lacey Yancey Sr., one son, Meagall, one daughter, Janice, three sisters and three brothers.

Left to cherish her loving memories are her daughters, Vearalance and Consuella; two sons, Lacey Jr. and Abraham; eighteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren; two sisters, Serene Roberson and Annie Bell Maberson; one brother-in-law, Theodo Yancey; one sister-in-law, Lorene Copeland and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.

Sister Lina was one of my best ushers. I could always count on her to answer the call to usher no matter the occasion, with that quiet sweet spirit. She was honored as an "Usher of the Year" during one of the Senior Usher Board Anniversary programs.
