Ms. Sandra Denisa Greer was born to the late Mrs. Bessie Brooks-Greer (Mr. Jack Greer) and the late Mr. James Anderson in Holmes County, MS on September 27, 1966. She was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Jean Huston; niece, Brenda Huston; and nephews , Melvin and Willie Lee Huston.
She received her elementary education at Goodman-Pickens Elementary School. She was a high school graduate of Durant Attendance Center (Williams Sullivan High School, Class of 1984. Later, she continued her education at Jackson State University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration . She also received a certification in Cosmetology from Holmes Community College.
Sandra accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and joined Walen Chapel United Methodist Church where she was a member. Sandra was a dedicated educator for Holmes County School District and Durant Public School District for several years. She also served as one of the most popular "Hair Stylist" for Homes County and surrounding areas. Sandra served as a business owner of her own tax preparation business until her health failed. She transitioned to her heavenly life on Friday, March 25, 2022, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi.
Sandra leaves to continue this journey as a dedicated mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She leaves to cherish and honor her memories: three children, Neshaunda (Jay) Brown of Sallis, MS, CaRhonda Greer of Jackson, MS, and Tameria Rule of Vicksburg, MS; seven grandchildren, Jakeem Greer of Hattiesburg, MS, Janiya & Jashun Brown both of Sallis, MS, Harmony Flaggs of Vicksburg, MS, CaLaijah & Camiyah Greer both of Jackson, MS, and Ashton Brown, Jr., of Vicksburg, MS; Four sisters, Hellena Greer of Jackson, MS, Cathern (Stanley, Sr.) Young of Jackson, MS, Bettie (William) Holmes of Canton, MS, and Willie Mae Greer of Jackson, MS; one brother, Willie Mac (Valeria) Greer, of Jackson, MS; six nieces, Katrina Huston of Goodman, MS, Debra Ann Huston of Durant, MS, Shawanda Huston-Keys of Ebenezer, MS, Candis Holmes of Converse, TX, Somer Greer of Jackson, MS, and Maya Greer of Hattiesburg, MS; five nephews, Sylvester (Cora) Huston and Michael Huston both of Goodman, MS, Patrick (Cassandra) Holmes of Killeen, TX, Dytanyl (Denae) Greer and Stanley (Samantha) Young, Jr. both of Jackson, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
