Robert, (affectionately known as Janke, or Bob) was the fifth child born to the late Millard and Lesere Brown Sudduth. Robert was born on September 18, 1937, in Attala County, Sallis, Mississippi. He attended public school in Attala County.
He united with Hill Spring M.B. Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Gray at an early age. He also was a member and attended Friendship Baptist Church, Evanston, IL, under the leadership of the late Rev. Zollie Webb, where he ushered faithfully. Robert rejoined Hill Spring after his retirement and relocation to Kosciusko, where he was a faithful member until his passing. He continued his ushering duties until his health prevented him from participating.
He was united in holy matrimony to Eleanor Ardister, in 1964. To this union, one child was born, Angie Sudduth. He had a special loving and caring relationship with his daughter and grandson, Brandon Sudduth.
Robert had various jobs while employed. His favorite and extended job was working with his brother Jim, who owned a Phillips 66 service station in Glenview, Illinois. This service station was one of the few Black owned businesses in that area. He loved working with people as a chef, and through car dealerships. He enjoyed his retirement by interacting and socializing with his friends at McDonalds. To know Robert was to love him, because of his fun-loving personality and genuine appreciation for life.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Millard and Lesere Sudduth, siblings, Wingard (Jim), Pearlean (Toot), Ellie (June), Lavorn (Buster).
Robert leaves many to cherish and celebrate his memory. The ones who will miss him the most are his daughter, Angie, and his grandson, Brandon. The remaining siblings are: Asalean Coleman (Lean), Vernon T. Moore, Emma (Oliver) Ruff, Jesse (Bubba) Sudduth, Marjorie Dodd, Ann (Thomas) Hull, Willie (Joe) Davis, Linda Bobo, Hope Sudduth.
