Obituary For Raymond Earl Armstrong

Raymond Earl Armstrong was born on April 22, 1947, in Meridian, MS to Robert B. Armstrong and Justine B. Phillip. His mother, father, wife, seven brothers, and three sisters preceded him in death.

He accepted Christ at an early age and joined Calvary Baptist Church in Meridian, MS. He received his education in the Meridian Public School System.

Raymond married Vera Sykes in 1972. To this union, they were blessed with four daughters. Raymond will be remembered for his love of fishing and to his family.

In March of 2022 his health began to fail. In Septemeber 2022 he relocated to Kosciusko, MS to live with his sister and brother-in-law. He joined Mt Zion MB Church, under the leadership of Rev. James Howell.

Raymond leaves to cherish his memories: four daughters: Debra (Johnnie) Rush, Tuscaloosa, AL; Peaches Skyes, Houston, TX; Carrie Jean Trotter, Tuscaloosa, AL; Rena Brewester, Meridian, MS; (3) sisters: Rina (Roosevelt) Harris, Kosciusko, MS; Lorraine Wells, Milwaukee, WI; Sarah Hurd, Meridian, MS; 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
