“Reflections of Missionary Norma Gerard Life Journey”
Missionary Norma Gerard was born to Ernest Moseley and Helen Hudson, who preceded her in death. Siblings who preceded her in death were Sharon Haynes, Tomasa Mosley, Ernest Mosely, Jr. (Butch), Raymond Mosely, Kelius Guzman, Jackie Hunt, Sabrina Guzman, and MonaRae Bell. The remaining siblings are Loretta Nabors. Ronita Grady, Tomisa Franklin, Jamal Guzman, and Ronald Guzman. She was one of fourteen children, with an additional 4 sisters from her father's 2nd marriage. While married to Willie Wilson Sr. she had four beautiful children, one (Soriyah Dean Wilson) preceded her in death. Lter in life while spending many happy years with Bishop Lawrence Clark they welcomed into the world, 28 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren many of whom she caught herself as a midwife.
Missionary Gerard was baptized at Bethel Apostolic Church under the leadership of Bishop D. McCollough, she was later filled with the gift of the holy ghost. She served in many facets of the ministry wholeheartedly and willingly. Involved in various Missionary works alongside her best friend Sister Sarah McCollough and preaching the gospel. Spending many years as the First Lady of Bethel Apostolic Church #2, winning souls for the kingdom. Missionary Gerard was faithful and fulfilled all her duties in the church joyfully. Missionary Gerard went on to marry Elder Marvin Gerard and faithfully served by his side carrying out the Lord's work for many years until she became ill. With the help of the Lord, she brought over 1,000 lives into this world through her midwife business. Delivering a number of members of her very own family. Missionary Gerard traveled near and far to assist mothers from all walks of life with the births of their precious children. The experience, wealth of knowledge, and love she brought along with her whether she received a call at 1 pm in the afternoon or 3 am in the morning. She showed up with her smile and her “go bag” ready to help. Her support did not stop when the babies were born, there was never an expecting mother that wasn't just a phone call away, she continued to bless families for generations!
Her legacy will live on through her husband Marvin Gerard, her son LeMarr Wilson and his 9 children and grandchildren, her son Willie Wilson Jr. and his 10 children and grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
