Obituary For Maxine McCain

A Time To Be Born

Maxine McCain, known as “Max”, was born Jume 20, 1964, to the late Lathan and Emma Lee Graham-McCain. She was the tenth child out of fourteen children.

A Time To Live and Love

Maxine confessed Christ at an ealry age and joined the Little Calvary M.B. Church where she attended until she moved to Milwaukee, WI. Maxine graduated from Louisville High School in 1982. She continued her education at Alcorn State University where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Counseling and worked as a Guidance Counselor at Alcorn State University before returning to school at Alcorn in 1993 where she received her Master's Degree as a Registered Nurse with Critical Care Registered Nurse Certification. Upon graduating from nursing school Maxine pursued her love as a hardworking, dedicated nurse until her health failed.

A Time To Die

On November 1, 2023, God saw fit to call Maxine to rest. Proceeding her in death are her beloved parents, Lathan and Emma McCain, one sister, Mary Lee Cross, a dear friend and special aunt, Nather Roby whom she lived with and cared for many years.

A Time To Remember

Maxine leaves to cherish her memories five sisters: Verna Ashford of Baltimore, MD, June McCain and Annie Jean McCain of Carthage, MS, Shandrae McCain of Milwaukee, WI, Tammy (Androcles) Davis of McCool, MS. Seven brothers: Marvin (Justine) McCain and James (Rena) McCain of Greenwood, MS, James “Byrd” (Cathy) Winters of Moss Point, MS Odell McCain, Liddeal McCain, Nathaniel McCain, Leo David (Annie Bell) McCain all Ehel, MS. One Godson, Walter Graham of New Caney, TX, a very special aun, Shelia Graham of Louisville, MS, a special uncle, Willie “Pete” Donald of Chicago, IL, 2 Special friends, Mrs. Cathy Prater and Jana Hunt, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

PLACE OF SERVICE: Winters Funeral Home Chapel, Kosciusko, MS

DATE OF SERVICE: Saturday 11/11/2023 at 11:00 a.m.

INTERMENT: Little Calvary Cemetery, Louisville, MS

VIEWING: Friday 11/10/2023 at 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
