Obituary For Leonard Fifer, Jr.

Life for Mr. Leonard Fifer, Jr. began on March 20, 1952, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Wade Leonard Fifer and Leola LeFlore-Fifer. While at home on October 21, 2023, in Carthage, MS, he gainded his wings.

He attended grade school at Brown Street and graduated from Riverside High School in Milwaukee, WI. He later did two years at the University of Illinois and enlisted in the Navy. There he was on Active Duty, he only served in the Reserves for a few short weeks. He also was a FEMA inspector during the Mississippi Easter Flood in 1979. Throughout his life, he accepted Christ, enjoyed comic books, fishing dominoes, movies, and being around family and friends. He worked at Tyson and Pecos as a U.S.D.A inspector until his health started to decline. Preceding him in death were his parents, Wade Leonard Fifer and Leola LeFlore-Fifer; His grandmothers, Emma Shackleford, Lee, and Mattie Leflore; Siblings, Diane Fifer and Gayle Fifer, and his mother and father-in-law Nola and Henry Huffman.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 39 years, Mrs. Izila Fifer; his two daughters, Leslie Fifer (Derel) Scott, Natalie Fifer; his four sons, Cedrick Fifer, Frederick (Sherelle) Fifer, Sammie Brantley, O'hara (Jasmine) Huffman; sister, Jewell Weaver. His five grandchildren, Mikala, LaMyia, Christa, Donqual, Zyairre, and one sister-in-law Katherine Welch.

He also leaves to cherish his six nieces, June Austin, JaNetta Weaver, Katina (Antonio) Harris, Michelle Fifer, Sherelle Hughes, and Gayle (Jack) Cooper. His four nephews LaRoy Fifer, Joseph Weaver, Marcus Watson, and Demetrius (Annie) Fifer. Two uncles Marvin and Charlie Shackleford. A host of great and great-great nieces and nephews that he cherished dearly, as well as a host of friends.
