Gloria Mae Kennedy, beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend, transitioned peacefully to be with her Heavenly Father on March 23, 2025, at 2:50 p.m. She was born on February 11, 1960, to Ida Mae Fair and Wardell Carter, her life was a testament to faith, love, and service. Gloria was a devoted member of Fancher Hill Missionary Baptist Church, where she gave her heart to Christ at a young age. Secure in her faith, she was never shy about sharing the gospel and spreading God's love wherever she went. Her passion for serving others was unwavering, and she joyfully lived out her faith every day.
On August 5,1978, Gloria married the love of her life, Arthur Kennedy Jr. He preceded her in death in 2006. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Terrance Dewayne and Jasmine Chantel, and were blessed with a grandson, Terence Michael Arthur Kennedy, affectionately known as “TJ”. Gloria's love for her family was evident in everything she did.
He devoted sister and cherished “big sis”, Gloria was the eldest of her siblings: Andrew “George” (Versadean), James “Jamie” (Gracie), and Mary (Reginald). She loved them deeply and was always there to offer her support, wisdom and laughter.
Gloria's dedication to ministry was evident when she was ordained in 201 at Grace Outreach Ministry. She took great delight in leading the youth ministry, including teaching Bible Study to adolescent males in a secure facility every Saturday morning. She drove the church van, organized youth activities, and gave of herself freely, always with a cheerful spirit. Her heart for people was immense- she believed wholeheartedly that everyone deserved to know the depth of God's love.
Gloria was a joyful spirit who treasured time with her family and friends. She loved to travel, bake her famous sweet potato pies, share heartfelt conversations, cheer on her beloved Detroit Lions, and fill every room with Whitney Houston's music. Always ready to lend a helping hand, Gloria had a heart full of compassion and kindness.

There are no words to express how I'm feeling right now. But even in my sadness I am beyond grateful to Ms.Kennedy for being more then my best friends mother but like a second mother to me. The amount of love and support that she has given me and my family will always be cherished! To my sister and brother, Jas/Terrance, it's never a journey you'll ever have to walk alone!
