Obituary For Tavis Tirrell Dixon

MR. TAVIS TIRRELL DIXON – Age 49, of Calhoun, Georgia passed away Saturday, July 27, 2024. He was born August 17, 1974 in Rome, Georgia to his parents; mother, Edith Danne Christian Dixon McMillan and late father, Johnny Dixon. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a graduate of Calhoun High School Class of 1994, and most recently graduated from Georgia Northwestern Technical College with an Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corp. He was last employed by Mohawk Industries where he worked in the Maintenance and Electrical Department. He enjoyed spending time with his beloved family and grandchildren, cooking, and was an outgoing person. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Lily Mae Printup; maternal grandparents, Marie Christian and Harold Wiley; uncle, William Larry Christian; aunt, Yolanda Beasley; father-in-law, Mike Fowler; mother-in-law, Beverly Emelander, and brother-in-law, Larry Emelander.

He is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Twyla Dixon; children, Damya (Michaela) Austin, Makayla (Trey Hampton) Dixon, Jacob Nixon, and Derrian Cantrell; grandchildren, Aaliyah Hampton, River Austin, Emery Bemiller, and new expecting grandbaby coming in February; mother, Edith Danne (Rufus Cameron) Christian Dixon McMillan; siblings, Monya (Mary) Christian and Sonji Dixon; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Misty Fowler, Crystal (Fernando) Ramirez, and Jennifer Emelander; aunt-in-law, Irma Fowler; aunts, Nancy (Buddy) Gordon and Regina Reynalds; uncle, Thomas Edward Long; nieces and nephews, Tarvez Dixon, Danarian Dixon, J. C. Chrisitan, Darrius Fleetwood, Xander Harris, Kaysha Fowler, Destiny Patterson, Alex Trejo, Fernando Ramirez, Jr., and Esperanza Ramirez; a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral Service will be Saturday, August 3, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at Trinity Baptist Church, 1170 Rome Rd SW Calhoun, GA 30701, with Pastor Bob Jones, Eulogist and Apostle Alvin Williams, Officiant. The family will receive extended family and friends on Friday, August 2, 2024 from 5:00 P. M. – 8:00 P. M. at Willis Funeral Home, 2011 Martin L. King, Jr. Blvd, Dalton, GA 30721.
