MRS. SHIRLEY ANN MACK NARED β Age 78, of LaFayette, Georgia passed away Monday, December 4, 2023 surrounded by family. She was born November 17, 1945 to her late parents, father Norris Mack and mother Alene Winkfield Mack. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Zell Nared, Jr., daughter, Vonda Kay Jackson Marshall, and brother, Roy Lee Mack.
She was employed by Dalton High School as a Cook for many years and was last employed by Roper Corporation. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir until her health declined. She loved to sew, cook, dance, and sing. She was considered a foster mother to many children in the community.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Yolanda (Sean) Washington; step children, Cleo Nared, James Nared, Jr., Anthony Nared, and Tony Nared; stepfather, Elijah Henderson; grandchildren, Sedrick (Carie) Shropshire, Davadrion Davenport, Zakeya Jackson, Starlette (Timothy) Adams, Carmen (Stephan) Pendarvis, Tiera House, Shacola Caldwell, Nikisha Powell, Deanna Gaines, Imeana (Tia) Kelley, Ikeala Clark, Zana Washington, Jovonna Gaines, and Jovonte Gaines; 28 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; sisters, Alice Chiles, Edith (Joey) Shropshire, Melvene Roberts; son-in-law, Lawrence Marshall ; former son-in-law, Joseph Gaines; aunt, Janie Paige; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; close friends, Elijah Henderson, Myra Faye Murray, Vanessa Cameron, Sharla Day, and Wanda Suttle.
Funeral Service will be Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 2:30 P. M. at the Willis Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Donald White, Eulogist and Minister Gregory Ludy, Jr. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 P. M. β 8:00 P. M. Interment, Naomi Cemetery. Arrangement by Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, Georgia.
