MR. SCOTT EMORY JONES, JR. – Age 71, of LaFayette, Georgia passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2022. He was born on August 13, 1950. He was a former deacon at Fairfield Baptist Church in Nashville, TN and later joined New Salem Baptist Church in Rossville, GA. He was a graduate of Rossville High School. He retired as a Sergeant First Class from the United States Army. He enjoyed fishing, going to car races, and working on cars. He is preceded by his father, Scott Emory Jones, Sr., mother, Mary Lousie Jones, sisters, Scottlene Jones and Maxine E. Orr, and brother, Oscar E. Jones.
He is survived by his loving sisters, Marion E. Mathis of Chattanooga, TN, Mary A. Williams of LaFayette, GA, Patricia M. (James) Murray of Boynton Beach, FL, Hazel L. Henderson of Chattanooga, TN, Rosa L. Mitchell of LaFayette, GA, and Glenda A. Hinton of Chattanooga, TN; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Homegoing Service will be Sunday, April 17, 2022, at 3:00 P. M. at New Bethel Christian Fellowship Church, 4009 Round Pond Rd, LaFayette, GA 30728, with Bishop Kenneth P. Carson, Eulogist. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 P. M. until the funeral hour at the church. Interment will be Monday, April 18, 2022, at the Chattanooga National Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, GA.
He is missed and loved by me he was my sweet brother and a Hero of mine the loss is heart felt rest my hero we will be together when it's time.
