MR. RUFUS LEWIS SHELTON - Age 72, of Chickamauga, Georgia formerly Chattanooga, Tennessee passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2022. He was born December 27, 1949. He was a member of the Baptist faith. He retired from the State of Tennessee Juvenile Court. He is preceded by his parents, Clifford Shelton and Emma Lewis Shelton, sister, Elizabeth S. Hinton, sister-in-law, Aubria Shelton, nephew, Rodney Maurice Hill, Jr., and grandparents, Elliot Lewis and Jennie Lewis.
Survivors are his loving sisters, Reba (James) Southern and Geneva (Rev. William) Tramble of Chickamauga, GA; brother, James Shelton, Sr. of Chicago, IL; special nephew, Gregory (Lois) Hinton of Chattanooga, TN; nieces, Rosalind Hinton of Murfreesboro, TN, Ronnette (Brian) McElvain of Harrison, TN, Sonya (Rodney, Sr.) Hill of Adairsville, GA, and Aubria G. E. Stalling of Chickamauga, GA; nephews, James Shelton, Jr. of Chicago, IL, James (LaToya) Southern of Lilburn, GA, Kevin Southern of Chattanooga, TN, and Winston Tramble, Omega Brother; 20 great nephews, 3 great nieces; and a host of other cousins and friends.
Home going Service will be Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 12:00 Noon at Willis Funeral Home with Rev. William Tramble, Eulogist. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 4, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. His remains will lie in state on Friday from noon until the funeral hour. Interment, Garmany Cemetery, Kensington Community. Arrangements by Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, GA.
