MR. KENNETH WAYNE TAYLOR – Age 77, of Dalton, Georgia passed away Saturday, March 8, 2025. He was born February 9, 1948 to his late parents, Clifford W. Taylor, Jr. and Flossie E. Starling Taylor. He was member of Mountain Ridge Baptist Church. He served in the United States Navy where he was stationed on the USS Tullare and was later Honorably Discharged in 1969. Afterwards, he was employed by Greyhound in Chicago, IL for 15 years and later Cheerhaven and the Housing Authority. He enjoyed watching basketball, football, playing cards, listening and collecting his vinyl records, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Clifford Taylor, Sr. and Elguin Suttle Taylor; maternal grandparents, Prince Starling and Jessie Dillard Starling; sister, Regina Barrett Taylor; brothers, Ransome “Randy” Taylor and Brian Taylor; and niece, Lauren Taylor.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Patricia Ann Ward Taylor; children, Lillie Charlane Taylor Pender of Decatur, GA, Rosalyn Denise Taylor, Kenton (Summer) Taylor, Aubrey (Corderious) Taylor all of Dalton, GA, and Colton (Brittany) Taylor of Calhoun, GA; grandchildren, Kendra (Major) McCoy, Kesha Pender, Kedarian Pender, Malik Carter, Keylei Taylor, Kaidenandre Cox, Layla Taylor, Braylee Witherow, Kennleigh Stocks, Zayan Taylor, Castiel Taylor, Zaydn Taylor, and Adalaya Taylor; siblings, Ronald Sprowl of Knoxville, TN, Crystal Taylor of Dalton, GA, and Amy Taylor of Chattanooga, TN; aunt, Arvella Starling; special cousins, Cynthia (Michael) Thornton, Gayle Taylor, Vanessa Perry, P. C. Burse, Cheryl McFadden, Rodney (Carmen) Hagan; special nieces and nephews, Brittney Taylor, Mycal Wingfield, Lindsey Taylor, Taylor Heard, Madison Wilkey; best friendS, James “Chipper” Byron, Thurmond “Catfish” Dozier; other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Homegoing Celebration will be Sunday, March 16, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at Willis Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Jerry D. Jones, Eulogist and Elder Fred Johnson, Presider. His remains will lie in state at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 A.M. until the funeral hour. Interment; West Hill Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, GA.
