Stephanie, Geneva, Lula, brothers and sisters, and family, We are so sorry to hear of your loss! We know Dewayne touched many lives in a positive way. His warm and engaging personality made you feel special when you were around him. His interactions with and the respect for Stephanie showed how deeply he loved her.

Dewayne’s accounts, surrounding his “drag car experiences,” were funny and exemplified his passion for the sport.

Dewayne will forever live in our hearts and memories, and we will smile when we think of our moments with him!

I am taking this news more harder than anyone could ever imagine. This has been a hard pill to swallow. Moddy was just like a brother to me. We shared alot of good memories together like going to the drag strip, going to the Smokies, cooking out even at the church, going out to eat with our families and so much more that I don't have enough room or time to share it all. I'm going to really miss my brother. We didn't see each other that much like we use too but when we did it's like we caught up from where we left off. I know He loved his wife and his children very much. He was a good man with full of life. I remember meeting Moddy years ago when we raced together at Brainerd. I really enjoyed hanging out with him. It's been years since I've seen him, and I'm sad to hear of his passing. My heart is sadden by the passing of my Cousin Moody. I remember when we first moved into our new house he and his brother Roger and several of the neighborhood kids would play hide and go seek in the woods. He was a great cook too. Nobody could touch his mac and cheese and fried chicken. He will truly be missed. Retta Harris
