Pastor White was instrumental in my walk with the Lord, he inspired me to go into the ministry and I have not regretted one minute of the decision at all for over 40 years now. Pastor White is now resting in the bosom of the Lord, praise God, His mercy endures forever. And ALL of God's people said Amen.

My heart is so full now. You will truly be missed Rev. White. My first pastor who was also like a second father to me. I grew up from a little baby in the church of Mt. Ephraim Baptist Church, which was also my family church. I am the grand-daughter of Julia Ward. You always would give me the most heartfelt hugs when I came down to the altar, whether it was for prayer, re-dedication, or whatever, you always made me feel right at home. I will never forget that. Even after our family moved on, and I spread my wings and became a member at another church, I remember still visiting my home church every now and then, and you always treated me like I never left, and I will always love you for that! You even officiated at my mother's homegoing service, Ms. Gisele Ward, and I will be forever grateful to you for that. May your soul be at rest now, and looking forward to that day when I will see you, and my other loved ones passed on before me, again, and we live out eternity together!! Love you always, and to the family, my sincerest condolences, may the Lord strengthen you in this time of need, and may He comfort and keep you all the days of your life! Condolences to First Lady Mrs. Lorraine J. White, the White Children and to the Mt. Ephraim Church Family." Dr. R.L. White was not only a personal friend, he was an advocate and supporter of the Fulton County Sheriff Office. He was an exceptional partner of law enforcement as well. Dr. White was sincerely concerned about the less than fortunate among us. As one of the leading Chaplins of the Sheriff's Office Chaplin Program, he was heavily involved in the youth, homeless, community programs and efforts to address violent crimes. He was responsible for the gun buyback efforts to remove guns in a crime preventive initiative. The ten year program to educate six to twelve grade students began in 2009 at Mt. Ephraim. He was always available and on numerous occasions allowed services and assistance to the Sheriff's Office. To First Lady Lorraine White, the entire White Family and ofcourse my Mount Ephraim church family: In 1996, I was introduced to Mount Ephraim by Deacon John Walker while temporarily living in Atlanta, Ga. I relocated back to Brooklyn, NY and was involved in an horrific/terrible auto accident that affected my memory. In 2007, I returned/relocated back to Atlanta, GA but for the life of me, I could not remember the name of this wonderful/great church and leader. I drove around for an entire day searching for a church that I vaguely remembered was near a jail. After driving around all over Atlanta and the surrounding cities, I came to a church that was on a slight hill. I spoke with one of the members and left my name & number for him to have some flashy bald black guy, later identified as Deacon John Walker to contact me. Two (2) days later I was contacted and returned back to Mount Ephraim after confirming THIS was my former church. Once rejoining, I delt with some professional/financial issues. Dr. White at the time was doing Thursday counseling to which I went almost weekly. We talked, we prayed and Dr. White directed me to several contacts, the late Congressman John Lewis being one of them. I say all this to say that Dr. White not only focused on his church members as a whole but he ALSO focused on me and everyone else individually. Dr. White may not know ALL of our names, as there were thousands, but he mentioned he knew I always sat in the last row. My life has done a 360 turn around with the help of Dr. White where I am both an officer for CDC and Public Safety Officer for Grady Memorial Hospital. My life would not be where I am at in life, both professionally, financially, physically but most of ALL Spiritually. On behalf of me and my entire family, Dr. White, we LOVE and will miss you. He stood up for right, when wrong was intrusive and overbearing! He loved God, Jesus, and The Holy Spirt! He adored family, friends, and his members!
