Mary “Joyce” McClure Stearns, 74 of Fort Worth, Texas passed away Thursday, August 10th, 2023 in Bowie, Texas.
Funeral Services will take place Tuesday, August 15th, at 11:00 A.M. at White Family Funeral Home in Bowie with Chaplain Phillip Weitner officiating. Visitation will be prior to service at 10:00 A.M.
Joyce was born in Coleman, Texas on November 25, 1948 to Arthur Lee and Lorene (Verzell) Pittman McClure. A graduate of Haltom High School in Haltom City, Joyce had a long professional career in the secretarial world and worked for Lockheed Martin as a private secretary for 33 years. She excelled at her position and was deeply involved in the top-secret clearance of the F16 fighter jet. She retired in December 2010. In addition to her accomplished professional career, Joyce was also a passionate Mary Kay Consultant for 38 years, as well as, a Tupperware Consultant for 35 years, touching lives and leaving a positive impact on many.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur McClure and Lorene McClure; stepmother, Artie McClure; sister, Barbara Ridley; and brothers-in-law, Dickie Kurz and Jerry Walker.
Joyce is survived by her sisters, Brenda Kurz and Betty Walker both of Bowie; brother, Bill McClure of Nocona; stepsisters, Brenda LaCour of Sunset and Janise Harbert of Amarillo; brother-in-law, Ken Ridley of Keller. Though she had no children, she loved her nieces and nephews as if they were her own, they include Renee Terry and husband Charles, Michele Trahan, Angie Sitton and husband Rob, Krystal Meesey and husband Tim, Richard Kurz and wife Sherry, Mike Kurz and wife Melinda, Steve Walker and wife Maria, Kim Degler and husband Aaron, Lee McClure and wife Robin and Benton McClure and wife Mandi; as well as numerous great-nieces and nephews and two great-great-nephews.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
