Obituary For Marie Glasgow

Jarvis “Marie” Wilder Wilkins Glasgow, 89 of Bowie, TX, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 16th, 2022.

Graveside services will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 19th, at Elmwood Cemetery in Bowie.

Marie was born April 14, 1933 in Italy, TX to Jewel Ray and Virgie “Stephens" Wilder. She grew up in Fort Worth, Texas and moved to Bowie in 1964. She opened and ran a Sears catalog store in downtown Bowie from 1965 through 1993. After she closed the Sears store, she opened the Home Center furniture store and ran it until she retired in 2000. She enjoyed square dancing, bowling and watching the Dallas Cowboys; and later in life, her biweekly exercise class and traveling to Terrell, Oklahoma to spend every Monday morning at the casino with her close friends. Marie was a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church of Sunset, Texas. She was known as Marie Honey to those closest to her. Marie loved her family and extended family and will be missed by them dearly.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband John Glasgow, brothers Roy Wilder and Clyde Wilder, sisters-in-law Marie Wilder and Edith Wilder and her son Jerry Wilkins.

Marie is survived by her sister Linda Wilder of Bandera, her son James Wilkins and wife Kathy of Sunset; granddaughters Kristi Robinson and husband Stewart of Decatur; Kendra Ledford Mayfield of Clever, MO and grandson Kyle Ledford and wife Lyndzie of Bowie; great-grandchildren Kortni and Rayse Robinson, Gracie and Noah Mayfield, Kason and Zaylea Ledford, and many loving nieces and nephews.
