Obituary For Charles "Chuck" L. Snowden

Charles L. “Chuck” Snowden, 71 of Nocona, TX left his beloved family, who were along his bedside on Sunday, June 4, 2023 in Decatur, TX.

Private services will take place at a later date.

Chuck was born June 4, 1952 in Richmond, IN to James and Georgia (English) Snowden. As a child, he loved fishing and working alongside his father who inspired his work ethic. On December 23, 1977, Chuck married Karen Sue Jones in Camden, OH. Chuck's strong work ethic continued and past along through the generations to his sons and grandson. With a 9th grade education, Chuck went on to attended Hobart welding Technology in Troy, OH. Being an entrepreneur at heart, in 1988 Chuck started C.L SERVICES from his home in Haslet, TX which is still successful and operating in Montague County.

Working along side his two sons, Chuck taught them how to make a deal with a firm handshake, and that a man is only as good as his word. He taught his sons not only about welding and reading blueprints, but everything necessary to run a business. He always said if he passed, he would be confident in knowing he has set his sons up to make a living for their families.

Although Chuck worked hard, his true passion was his ranch, listening to Alan Jackson while riding in his tractor and seeing the wildlife from his view. He enjoyed gardening, spending time with his family and listening to the chatter of his sisters.

He was just a unique individual, often called a "Man's Man ", and took pride in getting to know people he would meet on a personal level. He was a devoted husband and father, he himself was enormously proud of his family and they are forever grateful of the accomplishments he made for them. He was their "Trail Boss", their Rock and Anchor, and will be truly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents James and Georgia English Snowden, and siblings Jeannie Withrow and Carl Snowden.

Chuck is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, Karen Sue Snowden; sons, Jacob and wife Sally Snowden of Bowie and Zachary and wife Ginger Snowden of Forestburg, TX; daughter, Tonya Martin Cruze of Camden, OH; grandchildren, Brandalyn Snowden, Charles “Weston” Snowden, Katelynn Snowden, Maddison Snowden, Kristina Cruze, Hannah Cruze-Clifton, Khloe Cruze; 2 great-grandchildren; siblings, Jim Snowden and wife Cheryl, Sylvia Bleill and husband Art, Ruby Peck and husband Gary, Kathy Hensley and husband Bill, Paul E. Snowden and Tina Edwards; brother-in-law, Toby L. Jones and wife Ella Sue; special family, Danny and wife Yurgita Jones of Paradise, TX and their sons Lukas and Jacob; and numerous nieces and nephews.
