My deepest sympathy to my friend's family. Joe and I grew up together in the same church. Our families spent so much time together, I felt as though you were just another brother but from different parents. Joe, you left too soon, but God had other plans for your life, my brother. I would like to express my most sincere sympathies to the Jiles family during this difficult time. Mr. Jiles was a highly valuable and respected co-worker at Oakley Youth Development Center/MS Department of Human Services, and the effects of his passing are already being felt here by his fellow employees and management.
Mr. Jiles was a wonderful employee who understood the meaning of the word "team." He was always more focused on the good of our youth and the agency, he was always willing to work to help our agency move forward in numerous ways. His work at Oakley Youth Development Center will never be forgotten.
Mr. Jiles was a remarkable man and everyone at Oakley is better for having known him. For those of us that had the privilege of calling him "friend" outside of work, we were humbled by his kindness and compassion to everyone around him.
He will be greatly missed and everyone here is saddened by his death. Know that our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time.

Joe, this really hit hard to know you that you are not here anymore. You were the best friend anyone could ask for, you were always there when needed. You never denied anyone help no matter how you were feeling. You always wore a smile even if you were not in the best of spirits. If you never knew what you meant to our community, you were always appreciated by everyone. Esther, you and the kids were blessed to have Joe. Take joy in knowing he touched so many people and made our lives a little bit better by the help he offered as our neighborhood handyman. May the many blessings of God cover and shower your family. My name is Mr. Elmore Mayfield. I am a former resident of Vicksburg Mississippi, now residing in Dallas, Texas. Joseph A. Jiles, Sr. was married to my first cousin Esther, and they have three beautiful, loving children, Bettina, Matthew, and Joseph, Jr. Joseph A. Jiles, Sr. was a Christian man who reverenced God and exhibited his Love of God primarily through service to his fellow man, his Community and his precious family, and his dear friends. Joseph was a loving husband and father who was Blessed of God with many gifts and talents in order that he mlght provide for his family. Joseph never met a stranger. A winning smile and an extended hand is the way he greeted everyone he met. Throughout the many years that I have known Joseph, he has never approached me with anything other than his bright smile and a desire to help me anyway possible. He has always asked how he might help whenever I knocked on his door and entered his home. Throughout his convalescence at his home, at critical times, whenever I spoke with he and his wife by phone, he was always careful to ask how I was doing first. I will miss Joseph, but will forever love the Spirit of the man and the manner in which he approached life and every situation that he faced in his life. Joseph was never one to be overly worried or overly concerned about whatever he was to face in his life. He had Peace about his situation. I will forever Love the memory of him and the way he approached everyone he met, with true love and genuine concern. His wife and children have much to thank God for, but first and foremost, they can thank God that he left a legacy of Love and true Care for all people with no respect of persons. Joseph was a simple man who lovingly met people at the point of their needs.
Joseph was my classmate, he always wore a smile no matter where you saw him. He would remember your name with a smile. Even when he was very ill, Joseph held his dignity with pride and never let you know that he was ill. To Ester, Bettina and his son, know that God has his soul and he is at peace. Much love to you guys. Should you need me, l am a whisper away❤️

Joseph was a pillar of our community. He never hesitated to lend a helping hand, no job was too big or small for him. He always wore a smile and had the best personality a human being could have. He was always a joy to talk to, he was like a big brother to us and he will truly be missed. Rest in heaven. Your neighbors Hobson, Jones, Arrington and Spann families.
