Obituary For DeVonda Leni’ Spencer

Funeral services will be Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 12:00 noon, Natchez Trace Cemetery, 769 Highway 51, Madison, MS 39110. On November 12, 1980, DeVonda Leni’ Spencer was born in San Angelo, Texas to her parents Vikki J. Taylor and Jonathan Keith Spencer. She went home to be with the Lord on December 12, 2021. DeVonda grew up in Greenville, Mississippi where she attended and graduated from Weston High School. She also attended Mississippi State University and Hinds Community College, where she received her Associate of Applied Science Degree in Cosmetology. DeVonda later moved to Jackson, Mississippi, where she held various positions, the latest of which were as a Day Care worker at Mary C. Jones Head Start Center and Westside Head Start Center. She was a member of Greater Fairview Baptist Church in Jackson, MS. Throughout her life DeVonda enjoyed several hobbies and special interests. She was an avid reader, loved traveling, crafting and bargain shopping. Regardless of all of the pleasure her positions and hobbies brought her, DeVonda’s greatest joy was being the mother to her beloved daughter Khloe Jeanell Spencer and spending time with her family and friends. DeVonda is survived by her daughter Khloe Jeanell Spencer; her father Jonathan “Keith” Spencer of Gulfport, Mississippi; mother Vikki J. Taylor-Sanders and stepfather, Herman Sanders, Jr., of Madison, Mississippi; maternal grandmother Evelyn Jones of Meridian, Mississippi; a step brother, Keith Blanks of Decatur, MS and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Spencer family at this time. Ms. Spencer was such a sweet and loving person. She always greeted me with a smile! My daughter remained calm, while in her care. She will most definitely be missed.
