“As some people journey through life, they leave footprints wherever they go. Footprints of kindness and love, courage and compassion, humor and inspiration, joy and faith.” This is what the world experience during the life of the beautiful, Addie B. Roberts. Addie was born on January 19, 1949 in Bentonia, MS. She was one of sixteen children born to the late Mr. Grant Williams, Sr. and the late Mrs. Velma Harrington-Williams. Addie accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior at an early age. She attended Gibbs High School in Bentonia, MS. She also attended Charms Beauty School as a cosmetologist for her love of fashion and hair. To capture her love for art, she attended photography school. In her early twenties, Ray was a part of a musical trio named Ray and the Raylettes that produced two songs. After her time in the group, she had desires to become a DJ with the name of Baby Ray. She met James Reed shortly after, they married and raised four children. Later in life she enjoyed traveling and singing gospel songs. She was a true Queen in her time, and many experienced great peace and joy just by being in her presence. Ray was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters: James Harrington, Donnie Floyd Williams, Lee Williams, Maggie Banks, Roberta Williams, and Willie Williams; and her three grandsons: Cody Roberts, Marliek Roberts, and Nicholas Laird. She leaves to cherish her memory to a loving and devoted husband: James Reed; four children: Henry Roberts (Sharon), Tammie Roberts, Kizzy Roberts, and Neshicki Roberts; ten grandchildren: Trekilah Roberts, Keshia Roberts, Tyre Roberts, Jasmine Roberts, Markelle Roberts, Marquiste Roberts, Keegan Roberts, Kolbe Roberts, Trinity Jordan, and Katie Lynn Laird; two great grandchildren: Eriyana Curtis and Ryley Roberts; five brothers: Grant Williams, Ronnie Lloyd Williams (Emma), David Williams (Deloris), Jimmy Williams (Naomi) and Johnny Williams; four sisters: Rosetta Stutts (Marshall), Linda Harkins, Catherine Money (Robert), Betty Williams and a host of other relatives and friends.
