Mr. Julius Burton, Sr., 75, of Gadsden, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2025. He is survived by his loving family.

The Obituary

Julius Burton, affectionately known as “Jaybird”, was born on March 18, 1950, to Mr. and Mrs. Kenny Burton (Leila) of Gadsden, Alabama. He was a member of Gospel Truth Lighthouse Church with Pastor Larry Perkins. Julius rededicated his life to the Lord earlier this year. He loved his family and also enjoyed making people laugh, watching football, and bike riding.

He was preceded in death by his wife Linda Burton; his parents, Kenny and Leila Burton; his granddaughter Appalonia Burton; his sisters, Rosetta, Carolyn, and Leola Burton; and his brother James K. Burton.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his sons Kenneth Burton, Julius David Burton (La’Kisha), of Gadsden, Alabama; daughter April Burton of Toronto, Canada; grandchildren Chris Burton, Jaylon Williams, LaDasia Spears, Josiah Burton, La’Raina Burton; his sister, Evangelist Alice Williams of Gadsden, Alabama and brother Robert Burton of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
