Jerome Thomas, 71, of Gadsden passed away on July 29, 2023. He is survived by his family. We ask that you keep this family in your hearts and prayers during their time of bereavement.
Mr. Jerome Thomas was born on February 27, 1952 to Mr. Willie D. Thomas, Sr. and Roberta Thomas. Jerome was baptized under the leadership of the late B.L. Walker at Macedonia Baptist Church, where he joined the youth choir and other auxiliaries.
He received his education in the Gadsden City School System and graduated from Carver High School in the class of 1970. While in high school Jerome ran track and played the saxophone. He loved riding motorcycles, fixing on cars, and really enjoyed being around his family! Shoppy was ALWAYS the life of the party when entertaining people with his singing and dancing.
Jerome was preceded in death by his father, Willie D. Thomas, Sr.; his brother Antonio Thomas and son Zachary Thomas.
Jerome leaves to cherish his memories: Mother, Roberta Thomas; daughters, Tiffany Green, LaJohnna (Robert) Underwood, Tamika Tart and Jahlia Thomas; Sons, Marlon Timmons, Jermarle Thomas, Anthony Thomas; Sisters, Patricia Thomas, Renee Thomas, Rickie Jean (Richard) Wright and Marnita Williams; Brothers, Willie D. Thomas Jr., and Stewart Wayne Thomas. Nieces, Lakenya Thomas, Erica (Kevin) McBride, Aisha Thomas, Carlisa Thomas, Angel Thomas; Nephews, Tyrone Thomas, Daruis Thomas, Antonio Williams. Also a host of aunts, uncles, 17 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. Also his special friends, Gerald Smith, Ricky Johnson, Donald Smith, Richard Woods, Darrell Woody, Betty Johnson, Marion Smith and Terry Smith.
Public Viewing will be Friday, August 4th, 2023 from 12pm-6pm.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, August 5th, 2023 at 12 noon at Mission Baptist Church.
