“Your Bridge Over Troubled Waters”
In 1972, I was a new teacher at General Forrest Jr. High School. I taught special ed for grades 7, 8 and 9th. James was in my class. He was always a delight. He had a smile and a laugh every day. He always tried his best. He loved to draw. One day he gave a crumpled piece of paper, it was actually a torn piece of a brown grocery bag. On it he had drawned the hand of God touching Adam's finger (a section of the famous painting on the sistine chapel. It was beautiful. I have kept that piece of paper since then. Through the years I have often thought of James and wondered how he was doing and what became of him. I have not lived in Gadsden since 1978. I just wanted you to know that James was a wonderful person and one I have never forgotten.
Our staff will continue to keep your family in our prayers. We thank you for allowing us to serve your family.
