Mother Gloria T. Jordan,75,Gadsden, formally of Ragland, Passed away Friday, February 11,2022 at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.
Mother Gloria Jean Jordan was born in Ragland, AL to the late Marion & Ola Turner.
She was a graduate of St. Clair County Training School, Pell City, AL.
Mother Gloria J. Jordan was united in Holy Matrimony to Bishop Mitchell Jordan on August 10, 1968. To this union, three children were born, Mitchell Jr, Allan and Mareo. She was preceded in death by: her parents, Marion & Ola Turner; three brothers and two sisters. Mother Gloria Jordan received the gift of the Holy Spirit in 1965 and fellowshipped with the Bible Way COOLJC where Bishop Sherman Thomas was Pastor. In 1986 Bishop Mitchell Jordan was appointed Pastor of the Bible Way COOLJC, where she served as First Lady until her death. She served as President of the Mission Dept. and President of the Ministers and Deacons Wives Guild on the local level, a member of both adult and Senior Choirs. In 2012, she became Diocese Mother of the Central Alabama Diocese, working with the senior mother, Mattie Thomas until her death. Mother Jordan also served as President of the Ministers and Deacons Wives Guild for the Diocese until her health began to fail and she still pressed forward inspiring others.
Mother Gloria Jordan also worked as a hair stylist with her sister, Josie Turner, at Josie’s Beauty Shop. She had a passion for cooking for the senior citizens in the community.
On February 11, 2022, Mother Gloria Jordan answered the call of Jesus at the Gadsden Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, Al.
She leaves to cherish her memories: A loving and devoted husband, Bishop Mitchell Jordan of Ragland, AL; Three sons, Mr. Mitchell Jordan Jr. of Ragland, AL, Mr. Allan (Latasha) Jordan of Gadsden, AL and Minister Mareo (Sharon) Jordan of Gainesville, GA; Three sisters, Mary Embry, Bernice Davis and Ola (Marshall) Robinson, all of Ragland, AL; one brother, Donald (Earlene) Turner of Ragland, AL; one brother-in-law, Mr. Johnnie Jordan of Talledega, AL; three sister-in-laws, Ms. Celestine Jordan of Detroit, MI, Ms. Ann Turner of Columbus, GA, and Ms. Shirley Ann Turner of San Diego, CA; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one special daughter, Ms. Marrie (Neat) Jacobs of Oxford, AL, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Public viewing will be Friday, February 18, 2022 from 3pm-5pm. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 12 noon at Bible Way COOLJC. Eulogist: Minister Mareo Jordan. Interment: Morning Star Cemetery
