Mrs. Annie Ruth (Pierce) Hollanquest was born on June 1, 1931 in Gadsden, Alabama; the second child to the late James and JoAnna Pierce. She was a long time member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church and she served as a Deaconess.
She was united in holy matrimony to Dea. Claude Hollanquest on March 5, 1950. To this union, five children were born. She was a loving, caring, giving and thoughtful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. But most of all, sh was a God fearing and praying woman.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Dea. Claude Hollanquest; her daughter, Claudia; her son, Randy; her grandson, Eric; her granddaughter, Mynesha; her father, mother, three brothers nd five sisters.
On Thursday, February 11, 2021; she made her peaceful transition.
She leaves to cherish her memories: Three sons, Ray Thomas, Johnny Lewis and Kenneth Eugene Hollanquest, all of Gadsden, Alabama. Five grandchildren; Yolanda, Chara, Masia Deon, Kendrah and Claude. {HOW MANY GREATS} Many great-grandchildren. Two brothers; James (Betty) Pierce Jr, Robert (Bettie) Pierce of Gadsden, AL. Four sisters; Annie Jo (Rufus) Bridges of Decatur, GA, Inez Bonner of Gadsden,AL, Alice Johnny) Simmons of Jonesboro, GA and Debra Spear of Gadsden, AL. Moreover, she will be greatly missed by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including special friends; Mrs. Gladys Hoyt and Rose Sandridge. A special niece; Willie Mae Timmons
Funeral services for Mrs.Annie Ruth (Pierce) Hollanquest will be Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 12:00 noon at the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, West Gadsden, With burial to follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery.
Public Visitation will be Friday, February 19, 2021 from 12:00 to 5:00pm
