Determined to prosper and succeed, Sidney started working in the local industries until he became the Greene County Recreation Director. Sidney built a recreation program that gained notoriety around Georgia. He introduced Greene County children to football pads, and this developed the children into the caliber of athletes that eventually brought home a Greene County High School State Championship. In 2002, Sidney became the Recreation Director for Hancock County. His passion and love for the children, changed the trajectory of the life of many young boys and girls. He encouraged them to participate in football and they won the football Superbowl in Morgan County. This championship inspired them to play football in middle and high school. Many of these young men attended college and played football. He always bragged about that Superbowl win.
