Mr. Richard Lee Manago, Jr., was born March 28, 1958, to the late Deacon & Mrs. Richard Lee (Alice) Manago, Sr., of Crawfordville, Georgia.
He received his education in the Taliaferro County School system and completed his studies with the class of 1976. He united with the Browns Chapel Baptist Church as a teenager.
Richard was affectionately known by many names, including “my baby,” “unk,” and “tater/tater-head.” Regardless of what, or when, you called him, he was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Despite having no formal mechanics or small engine education, he quickly made a name for himself upon returning to his hometown. He was the person to call when you needed something worked on, from your lawn mower blades to your automobile motor.
Richard is survived by his son and daughter, Mr. Richard P. Manago of Crawfordville, and Mrs. Candace (Alfonzo) Mitchell of Grovetown. His grandchildren,
Kiamya and Quantravis Manago, Quarterez Williams, Kenyia Robinson, Jordan Mahoney, and Ayden Mitchell, and his great-grandchildren Indya and Zaylee Williams. He was preceded in death by a great -grandchild, Emerald Baldeh. Other relatives include two nieces, Etta (Renee) Stewart and Ralphine Manago, a nephew, Tracy Manago, and his sister-in-love Lillian M. Stewart. He also leaves numerous great -nieces and nephews, great -great nieces and nephews, a special niece, Shenece “Nee” Thornton, and many relatives and friends.
