CHRISTIANITY does not exempt one from death, it only ensures triumph over death and the way to our Heavenly Father's Home. On December 18, 2021, an Angel of Our Lord came and carried the spirit of our beloved, Ocie Mae Lewis - 72, home.
OCIE was born to the late Johnny Hugh Lewis and Gracie Mae Champion Lewis on February 06, 1949 in White Plains, GA. She was born, third often children. She was the oldest girl.
AT a young age, Ocie acknowledged that Christ was the head of her life and she joined Second Baptist Church in White Plains, GA. She believed in Faith, Family and Community.
OCIE was a Proud student of Hubert English School and a 1965 graduate of Floyd T. Corry High School. She attended Morris Brown and Georgia College. A woman of many talents she freely shared her gifts with others.
GOD'S greatest gift is Love. Love is Free. Ocie freely gave of her time and talent as she lovingly provided tutorial services to individuals that needed educational support from elementary to collegiate levels. She was especially known for assisting family, friends and acquaintances with administrative paperwork. She also used her artistic talent to coordinate weddings and other celebratory events.
SHE was Blessed to see her son's Entrepreneurial Spirit blossom in her lifetime.
SHE was preceded in death by two siblings: a brother, Walter Bennet, Jr and a sister, Mildred Lewis Brown.
OCIE'S memories are cherished in the hearts of her son, Vincent Lewis, Greensboro, GA. Two Grandsons, Quincent Lewis, Fort Lauderdale, FL. and Victor Lewis, White Plains, GA; Two Great-Grandchildren; Seven Siblings, Willie Hugh Lewis (Bernice) of Union Point, GA.; Donnie L. Hutchinson (Robert) of Riverdale, GA.; Willie C. Lewis (Wonda) of Jonesboro, GA; Kenneth S. Lewis of Riverdale, GA; Alesia Lewis-Dupree of Jonesboro, GA; Gail S. Wise (Elbert) of Kingston, GA; Rita L. Lewis of Jonesboro, GA.; Five Aunts, Elizabeth Champion, Florine Lewis, Mildred Ragland (Sam), Mattie Champion and Dorothy Smith; brother-in-law, Carl Brown; and a host of
nieces, nephews, cousins, and long-time devoted friends.
