Obituary For Michael Robert Stephens

Michael Robert Stephens, died unexpectedly on December 12, 2023, from an accident. He was 20 years old. He was doing what he loved to do (riding his dirt bike). His passion for dirt bikes and four-wheelers was incredible and amazing. He loved making people laugh and smile.

When you saw him, he always had a smile on his face, and you could never tell when he had a bad day. He was affectionately known by “Mikebo”, “Goggles” and “Money Mike”. He never met a stranger and was sweet, compassionate, lovable, energetic, silly, ambitious person and respectful. His favorite things to say was “Yessa”, “I gotcha”, “You on my time”, “I get paid to be here, not to work, Yessa.”

Michael was born on March 28, 2003 and preceded by death of his father Willie Robert Stephens, Sr. and Tomika Walker and survived by his mother Veronica L. Houston. He joined church at an early age. He leaves to cherish his memory a loving mother Veronica (Marcus- bonus father) Houston. His siblings, Demontre (Bree) Tory, Carmen (Zymir) Merritt, Angel Stephens, Steve Stephens, Timothy Sanders, Dennis (Kemetta) Burdette, Samantha Sanders, Robert Stephens Jr., Roberta (Solomon) Kendrick, Beunka Stephens, Kim (Patty) Sanders, Kelvin (Latishia) Turner, Ashley Stephens, and Willie Lawson. Favorite aunt Margaret Stephens and loving grandmother Janie Harden. Aunt Susie McArthur with a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, great-aunts, and cousins.

Special mention of his best friends Traquavis Bolden “Lil Qua”, Matthew Scott “Matt” and Antonio Mattox “Coach Man” Jonathan “JoJo” and Terry. Girlfriend Kyla Wright.

Services December 19, 2023 at 3 p.m. from Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Pastor Porter, Officiating.

Michael Robert Stephens is one of the most wonderful people I have ever met. Every morning and every afternoon, he would come to work and look for me to give me a hug. He literally treated me like a Son would treat a Mom that he loves. Although I know we did not come here to stay and we are holding each other hands on the way home, Michael is and will always be missed by me. I will forever remember his kindness and his love. To his parents and family: Know Michael is and was a precious gift to me and you all did well with him. I did not know the details of his service. I most definitely would have been there.
