John Jones was the kindest, sweetest most loving man, you could ever meet.
He was introduced into this world on December 14, 1943, in Greensboro, GA to the late James and Wilma Jones. He married the love of his life, Lillie Ruth Burdette on October 3, 1972. He made his earthly departure on September 20, 2024.
John Jones enjoyed the simple things in life. He enjoyed fishing, watching Sunday football and tending to his yard. He was a homebody but also enjoyed traveling and going out to eat (when pressed). He most enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He loved his family but never met a stranger. He could talk to anyone as if he had known them forever. He always made you feel warm and welcome. He had no problems saying "I love you." Regardless of who did the cooking, he always wanted you to eat till your heart was content and to make a plate to take home. Being concerned about your safety and well-being, he often warned you to "watch for deer" upon your leave.
John Jones was a hard and dedicated worker and rarely complained. He worked as a veterinarian technician for over 10 years. He worked as a technician at Chicopee for over 12 years. He later worked and retired from Georgia Pacific after 29 years of service.
John was preceded in death by: his parents James and Wilma Jones; three brothers: Robert, Luther and James Jr. Jones; three sisters: Lucile Tyson, Bessie Escrict and Jackie McDonald.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wjfe, Lillie Ruth Jones; children: Anthony (Dorothy) Jones, Alfay Lawrence and Amanda Parrot; brothers: Emory and David Jones; grandchildren: Domonique, Traleea, Dennis, Omorion, Malik and Tatiyanna; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Service: Sunday, September 29, 2024 from Hill Chapel Baptist Church, Greensboro, Ga. with Pastor Herman Laguins, Eulogist.
