Edward Mapp Jr. was born on May 28, 1949 to the late Edward and Everlyna Mapp of Siloam, GA. He was educated in the Greene County School System and continued to live in Siloam until he moved to Miami, Florida for employment. Edward returned to Siloam to begin work at Nibco for sixteen years until he later reached retirement. His favorite saying was, “I finally found a job that I will never quit.”
Edward was affectionately known as Papa or Uncle Boot. He always greeted you with a smile. His gentle nature and humble spirit was known by many. Papa departed his life after a brief illness on Monday August 17, 2020 to be reunited with his parents, his three brothers, and his beloved children, Anthony Hill and Tina Tripp.
He leaves to cherish his memories his one sister, Georgia Mae Mapp, his lifelong beloved Mary Lee Hill-Mapp, four grandchildren Sequandra Sanchez Mapp, Jemon Anthony Hill, Naya Conche’ Tripp and Kamilla Amilya Hunte, two great-grandchildren Jewel Serenity Peek and Miami Hill, special nephews Franklin (Queecha) Thornton, Edward (ChaQuias) Thornton, son-in-law Mervyn Tripp, brothers-in-law Richard (Veronica) Brinkley, Kelvin (Wimontine) Brinkley. He has a gifted daughter and grandchildren, Kimi Boykin, Merissa and Corey Bailey, special friends, Robert Thomas, JD Redd, Johnny Lee Jones, James Henry, Lenard and Frenard and a host of nieces, nephews and relatives.
