I just happened to find out Mrs Lewis passed away an hour ago in Georgia through me doing research about myself and it connected me to her late son's Michael Rene Pegues obituary and I seen a woman named Romona that commented on Michaels obituary stating the Mrs Lewis passed. I never had any personal issues with Mrs Lewis in Columbus Ohio or period. From What I can overall remember, She was a sweet lady in general and just overall when we interacted on Wellington Avenue in my adolescent years and so forth and I do remember her getting me a few nice Christmas gifts, I believe she purchased me my first red silk robe when I was in high school or my first few years in college at The Ohio State University. I can also recall she was an animal lover she loved the cats that were on Wellington Avenue and she loved her late son's( my step father's) and her daughter in laws( Johndine Pegues) rottweiler Tess and her beloved Felony that camed to live with her in Georgia in warmer weather because of Feloni's health problems. I feel shocked and disappointed that Mrs Lewis passed away on December 6 2022 and that I was unable to keep in touch with her. The only way I would get status updates on how she was doing is when my late mother Johndine Pegues spoke to Mrs Lewis over the phone and or spoke to her granddaughter Diana Rakes over the phone. If I was aware of her passing I could have sent a sympathy card to Diana Rakes. I am so sorry that she passed away and I hope that she had a wonderful homegoing

Just want to offer my sympathy and condolences. I had a lot of time to spend with my grandmother over the years. She did some amazing things with her life. I'm celebrating the amazing life she lived. Brian.
Mrs. Pegues was one of the first teachers that my developmentally disabled brother had in the Columbus Public Schools in the 1950s. He entered the MR/DD program, and she was always checking in on him to make sure he was getting the care he needed. What a Servant she was! May she Rest in Peace.
Our staff will continue to keep your family in our prayers. We thank you for allowing us to serve your family.
