Mr. James W. Drayton, of Greenwood, Florida transitioned from life temporal to life eternal on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Jackson Hospital in Marianna, Florida.
He was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Greenwood, Florida.
Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at 1:00 P. M. from the sanctuary of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church located at 3996 Wintergreen Road in Greenwood, Florida, with Rev. L.V. Farmer, Rev. Kevin Williams, Rev. Dwight Cockerham and Elder Dr. Rev. Nelson Wilson, officiating.
The body will lie in state from 12:00 Noon until time for the service.
Interment in the church cemetery.
A public viewing will be held on Friday, February 25, 2022, from 3:00 P. M. to 6:00 P. M. from the chapel of Vann Funeral Home.
Center for Disease Control (CDC) Guidance will be followed for social distancing and wearing of asks for everyone’s safety during the viewing and the funeral service.
Mr. Drayton leaves to celebrate a life of lasting love and memories, a loving and devoted family:
Wife: Lillie J. Sims Drayton of Greenwood, Florida;
3 Daughters: Gwendolyn (Anthony Smith of Marianna, Florida; Vanessa Drayton of Ft. Myers, Florida and Kaishauna Garrett Smith of Greenwood, Florida
3 Sons: Donell Barnes of Greenwood, Florida; James Walter (Patricia) Drayton Jr. of Marianna, Florida and Daniel (Wendy) Smith of Houston, Texas
And a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many loving friends.
Dear Jean and family may You find peace in the legacy of love and devotion left by your loved one (Deacon Drayton) and remember JOY comes in the morning.
