Obituary For James N. Smith

Mr. James N. Smith, of Marianna, Florida, transitioned from life temporal to life eternal on Sunday, November 6, 2022, at his residence.

He was a member of Pope Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Marianna, Florida.

Homegoing Celebration of Life services will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at 1:00 P. M. from the sanctuary of St. James African Methodist Episcopal Church located at 2891 Orange Street, Marianna, Florida, with the Reverend Larry Brown, officiating.

Interment will be in the Pope Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church Cemetery.

Mr. Smith will lie in repose at the church from 12:00 Noon until time for the service.

A public viewing will be held on Friday, November 11, 2022, from 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM at Vann Funeral Home.

The family kindly asks that everyone wear a mask for the viewing and funeral service to protect the health and safety of all who will attend.

He leaves to cherish a lifetime of fond, yet precious memories, a loving and devoted family:

Two Daughters: Elaine (Major) Washington of Melbourne, Florida and Victoria Smith of Lithonia, Georgia

One Son: Glynn (Wendy) Long of Clearwater, Florida

Sister: Ermia Barkley of Marianna, Florida

Sister-in-Law: Lillie Barnes (Henry) of Tallahassee, Florida

Nine grandchildren, Seven great-grandchildren

And a host of special nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family request monetary gifts or gift cards be sent to Victoria Smith or Elaine Washington, 2830 Penn Ave, Marianna, Florida 32448.
