Mr. Gary Lee Cox, age 66, of Marianna went home to be with the LORD on Sunday June 26, 2022.
A Homegoing Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday June 30th, 2022, at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church Marianna located at 2897 Green Street in Marianna with Reverends DeRon Johnson and Cody Clark officiating.
Interment will be at Northside Baptist Church Cemetery in Dellwood, Fla.
A time of visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service from 10:00 am to 11:00 am central time.
Gary was born in Marianna, Fl. On October 6, 1955, to the late Charles and Hazel Cox. He graduated from Marianna High School, Chipola Jr. College and the University of West Florida. He later obtained his master’s degree from Troy University. He worked at Sunland Center in Marianna for 35 years where he served the residents of Sunland in a variety of capacities.
Gary loved life, loved the outdoors and loved the water. He loved boating, fishing, swimming, snorkeling – anything to do with water. He was also an avid FSU fan for more than 50 years.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents.
He leaves to cherish a lifetime of fond and precious memories a loving and devoted family:
Wife: Rhonda Cox of Marianna, Florida
Three Daughters: Kara Ryles and husband Chris; Kendall Hull and husband Scott, all of Crestview, Florida; and Melinda Bishop of Marianna, Florida
One Son: Cody Clark of Marianna, Florida
Two Brothers: Terry Cox of Tallahassee, Florida; and Clint and wife Rosemary Cox of Marianna, Florida
Three Grandchildren: Devynn Elmore and Kian McNabb both of Crestview, Florida and Aurelius Bishop of Marianna, Florida
And a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
