Sandra Ann Gray, 62, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Fort Sanders Regional in Knoxville, TN.
Born March 6, 1962, to Samuel Anderson Gray, Sr. and Beulah Lucille Bolden Gray in Knoxville, TN, she was the first daughter born to this union and affectionately called “The Baby Sister” by her siblings. Sandra grew up spoiled! She was a Daddy’s girl, and her older sisters’ pretty baby doll.
Sandra was raised in South Knoxville and would later move east where she lived over the past decade. Her neighbors nicknamed her “Moma Sandra” because she would look out for people even when it was hard to look out for herself. She loved to cook and would feed anyone who came to her door. You just had to take the plate and go. (LOL) Sandra was a no-nonsense, caring person who loved her family so much. She would send random texts throughout the day to family members saying “I love my family” “You are so beautiful” “I am so proud of you” along with a picture of a beautiful flower. Sandra loved flowers, the color yellow and most importantly she loved the Lord.
Preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, John and Anna Chandler Bolden; brothers, Tommy Sr. “Bud,” Ronnie and Ricky Bolden, Sam Jr., and Edward Gray; sisters, Patricia “Pansy” Crosby, Deborah Henry, and Loretta Gray; aunt, Hattie “Aunt Sissy” Bolden and several special nephews and nieces.
Survived by her loving family, handsome sons, Montez and Broderick Lewis; beautiful daughter, Shalita Whiteside; gorgeous grandchildren, Kelvon, Travese Shyann, C’Andre, Jayla, Justin, Kamari, Jagotti, Jamykel, Journey, Stormy, Michael, Dayna, Aeyanna and Brianna; adorable great grandchildren, J’Zai, Jaishawn and Jai’lani ; dearest sisters, Linda Brown, Jacqueline Mitchell, Dorothy Claiborne, Brenda Sherfield, Mary Flintroy of Pensacola FL, Rosa Ewing and Polly Gray, both of Nashville TN; dearest brothers, Jack Sr. and Larry Bolden; aunts, Johnnie M. Brown and Mary E. Garner; sister-in-law, Margaret Bolden; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends to include special nephew, Charles Bolden Sr., Pastor Reginald (D’Nese) Strong, Vickie McClellan, Yolanda Rogers, Machelle Harrod and her Townview neighbors.
