Obituary For Geraldine B. Williams

Geraldine B. Williams, 89 passed away Saturday November 23,2024 at Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tn. Born May 19, 1935 in Newnan, Georgia to Matthew and Mozell Britton. She moved to Knoxville at the age of 10. She attended Vine Jr. High School and Austin High. She worked for Ella Roehl’s Cream Candy before keeping house for Mr. & Mrs. Luke and Catherine Wright. She stayed employed there until she retired.

Preceded in death by her husband Ulysses Eugene Williams, brothers Leroy Britton, James Britton, daughter Carolyn A. Gillenwaters and son Anthony L. A. Williams. Survived by sister Linda Cannon, sons Floyd Alexander, Gary Alexander, and Lawrence A. A. Williams, daughter Vanessa (Dollie) L. W. Quarles, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and friends. The family will receive friends Saturday, December 7, 2024 from 12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m., with the Celebration of Life Service to begin at the Unity Mortuary Chapel; 1425 McCalla Ave, Knoxville, TN 37915. The final resting place will be at Berry Highland Memorial 5315 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN.
