Mr. Cobie Fugate, age 79, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2025. He was the oldest of nine children born to parents, Will and Clydean Riley Fugate on September 08, 1945 in Ewing, VA.
Cobie was raised in Tazewell TN and graduated from Morristown West High School, Class of 1963.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy and retired from Alcoa Aluminum Company. Cobie was a carpenter by trade and a good mechanic. He loved hanging out with his friends, drinking coffee and browsing the Burlington Flea Market.
In addition to his parents, Cobie was preceded in death by daughter, Shara Isom; siblings, Judy Jackson, Richard and Donald Fugate.
He leaves to cherish his memory: sons; James and Cobie Fugate: daughter; Christina Fugate Price, all of Knoxville, TN; brother; Ronald Fugate of Knoxville, TN, sisters; Marilyn Fugate of Cincinnati, OH, Charlene Kitchen, Arlena (James) Glasgow of Knoxville, TN and Anita (Emanuel) Martin of Chattanooga, TN; devoted niece, Kim Jackson; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Fugate will lie in state on Saturday, March 08, 2025 from 11am - 3pm. A walk through visitation will be held Sunday March 09, 2025 from 9:30am-10am at Unity Mortuary, 1425 McCalla, Knoxville, TN 37915. The final resting will take place at the Will Fugate Family Farm, (Hoop Creek), 456 Sulfur Hollow Road, Tazewell, TN 37879.
