Ms. Willie Mae Raines was born on December 15, 1952, to the late Ms. Carrie Mae Raines and the late Mr. Willie James Marshall in Thomaston, Upson County, Georgia. She attended public school in the Upson County School System.

She was the mother of six children, three preceded her in death. To help provide for her family, she was employed by Loving Care Day Nursery. She enjoyed her job and working with the staff. During her leisure time, she enjoyed working, cooking, socializing with family and friends and playing cards.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three children, Sharon Walker, Angela Lamar and Raymond Raines, siblings, Christine Raines, Carol Raines, Freddie Snipes and Bobby Marshall. On Friday, January 19, 2024, the Lord called her name. She answered the call and went home to rest.

She is survived by three children, Ms. Tara Raines, Mr. Bobby Lamar and Mr. Billy Lamar (Tecalli Denson) all of Thomaston, GA; daughter-in-law, Mrs. Karen Raines of Thomaston, GA; grandchildren, Ms. LaTrenda Skelton, Ms. Tasmine Fagan, Mr. Tyron Raines, Ms. Shy'Kemmia Traylor and Ms. Kensington Raines all of Thomaston, GA; four great-grandchildren, Nakiyah Dozier, Lakevion Dozier, Brooklyn Traylor and Kiera Foster all of Thomaston, GA; seven siblings, Mrs. Sandra Johnson of Macon, GA, Mrs. Kathy Draine (Curtis), Mr. James Raines (Rachel), Mr. Willie Gene Marshall (Brenda Walker) all of Thomaston, GA, Ms. Tammie Sullivan of Milner, GA; two devoted friends, Mrs. Patricia Reeves and Mr. Charles Raines and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
