Obituary For Ms. Bettie "Queen B" Parks

Ms. Bettie Lou Parks, was born on February 9, 1951 to the late Calvin Willis and Eldora Willis. Bettie attended Collins school for her years in early education. At an early age, she gave her life to Christ as her Savior and Lord. As a God fearing humbled servant, she was a devoted member for many years of Midway Baptist Church before later finding her church home with Stonewell Worship Center.

Bettie believed that loving people was a priority and not an inconvenience. She believed in the power of love for her family and friends. Over time, due to her gracious smile and infectious personality, Bettie inherited the nickname of “Queen B”.

Bettie was a loving, devoted wife for 35 years to late John Horace Parks. To help support her family, Bettie was employed with Thomaston Mills until closing in 2005. Following her tenure at Thomaston Mills, Bettie spent her time with family. You could find her on shopping trips with her sisters, attending church and making people laugh. Bettie loved to dance, and you can always count on her to be the life of the party. She was the true epitome of a Mother, wife, servant and dearest friend.

Bettie attended Upson County Senior. She did not meet a stranger. Upon meeting her, she would proudly let you know that she was “Queen B”. In her time at senior center, she displayed a smile that would light up a room and if you were having a bad day, she would find the words of encouragement to lift your spirits.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Calvin and Eldora Willis, Husband: John Horace Parks, Brothers: Robert Chaney and Calvin Junior Willis, sister" Bernice Collier and granddaughter: Makia Antonette Walker. On Saturday September 7, 2024, the Lord called her home from Labor to Reward. Her spirit took flight and she went home to rest. She will be greatly missed by her family friends. She is survived by her 7 children: Nora (Kenny) Parks of Thomaston, GA, Tony (Tina) Parks of McDonough, GA, Gena (Tony) Parks of Thomaston, GA, Rick (Tallulah) Parks of Thomaston, GA, Brandon (Jessica) Parks of Fairburn, GA, Travis Parks of Atlanta, GA and Desi Durham of Atlanta, GA Six Siblings: Shallie Willis, Barra Willis, Muriel Willis, Samuel Willis, Sherley Willis and Josephine Holloway, all of Thomaston, GA, Dear Friend: Jamie Woodard of Thomaston, GA, 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and a host of nieces, and a host of nieces, and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
