Obituary For Mr. Willie James Walker

Mr. Willie James Walker, more affectionately known as “Boo Boo,” “Ice Man,” “Fire Ball” and “The Truth,” was born on July 4, l952, to the late Mrs. Lelia Bell Davison Walker and the late Mr. Solomon Walker, Sr. in Thomaston, Upson County, Georgia. At an early age, he joined the Friendship Baptist Church.

He attended public school in the Upson County School System. He was the Salutatorian of his class and graduated in l970. He was gifted to play music by ear and was given a music

scholarship.

During his early years, he was employed by Martha Mills where he worked for many years. Later he was employed by the City of Thomaston in the Sanitation Department and lastly at the Thomaston Upson County Civic Center. He was the father of four children and the grandfather of six. He was a loving and devoted father and grandfather that loved his family.

During his leisure time, he enjoyed listening to old school music, watching westerns, especially The Rifle Man, whistling and spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Orlando Walker; three brothers, Solomon Walker, Jr., Norris Walker and Marvin Walker; three sisters, Betty Jean Walker, Patricia Walker and Earnestine Walker. On Tuesday, January 7, 2025, the Lord called his name. He answered and went home to be at rest.

He leaves to cherish his memory three children, Mrs. Danielle (Alfred) Johnson of Thomaston, GA, Ms. Yashika Walker (Corelle Wilson) of Yatesville, GA and Mr. Carlos Walker of Thomaston, GA; nine grandchildren, Jacarri Howell, Emmadeya Johnson, Hansen Johnson, Shania Walker, Amare Wilson, Amarah Wilson, Kahmya Sullivan, Kentavious Hollis and Kevious Sullivan; a daughter he raised as his own, Katrina Sullivan of Thomaston, GA; one sister, Mrs. Vickey Walker McCarthy of Thomaston, GA; two brothers, Mr. Tony (Elaine) Walker of Thomaston, GA and Mr. Emory (Brenda) Woodard of Jacksonville, FL; one aunt, Mrs. Johnnie Bell Matthews of Thomaston, GA; a friend/care-giver, Shakeena Lodge of Thomaston, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
