Mr. Jerome Green was born on January 2, 1950, to the late Ms. Minnie Lee Green and Mr. Charlie Atwater in Thomaston, GA. Jerome who was affectionally called Joe, received his education from Drake High School in Thomaston, GA.
Jerome worked for many years for Thomaston Mills, later working for the Thomaston-Upson County Senior Center and Upson Regional Medical Center, where he later retired. In his leisure time, he enjoyed watching sports and Westerns and spending time with family and friends.
Jerome departed this life on October 17, 2024. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ms. Minnie Lee Green, and his father, Mr. Charlie Atwater, brothers, Reginald Barnes and Harrison Hodo, and his lifelong companion Marilyn Tysinger.
He leaves to cherish in his memory his son, Atheus J. Green; three daughters: Wanda (Alan) Johnson, Frenchie Green and Monica Green; three grandchildren: Ariel Johnson, Wanya Johnson and Nijeria Lewis; three sisters: Glenda Green, Marilyn (Greg) Staten and Charlene Barnes; one sister-in-law, Debra Barnes; two brothers: Jeff Middlebrooks and James Atwater; two dedicated friends: Rev. Willie Henry Williams and Mitchell Perry; three loving and dedicated cousins include: Andrew Mccoy, Evangeline Worthy and Maine Worthy; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends who will miss him dearly.
