Mr. Jimmy Hosley was born on March 14, 1960 in Milner, Lamar County, Georgia, to the parentage of the late Mrs. Eula Mae Sampson Hosley and the late Mr. William O. Hosley, Sr. He was the 13th of 17 children born to this union. Jimmy was educated in the Lamar County School System and graduated from the Lamar County Comprehensive High School. He began his career in law enforcement in 1983 with the Lamar County Sheriff’s Department. He completed his service as a member of the Forsyth Police Department in Forsyth, GA. Jimmy enjoyed the simple things in life to include fishing, hunting and music. His favorite pastime was sitting on the porch to watch the rain. He also loved to play card games including Spades, Bid Whist, and Tonk. One of his favorite church sermons was “What in the Hell do You Want” by Rev. W. Leo Daniels. On Monday, June 21, 2021, the Lord decided it was time for Jimmy to end this earthly journey, and he entered into eternal rest. Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Ida Mae Smith and Lucille Bateman; and three brothers, Solomon Hosley, Grady Hosley, and Ray Charles Hosley. Jimmy leaves behind a wonderful family to cherish his memories including a daughter, Kimberly (Andre`) Pete of Aiken, SC; a grandson, Andre` G. Pete, Jr. of Aiken, SC; sisters and brothers, William Hosley, Jr., Henry (Fannie) Hosley and Gloria (Alex) O’Neal of Milner, GA, Jeanette (Bobby) Risper of Griffin, GA, Mattye Hosley of Barnesville, GA, Shirlene (Benny) Fambro of Milner, GA, Laura Ann (Jay) Johnson of Mangham, LA, Frances Wyche of Barnesville, GA, Grace Hosley of Milner, GA, Betty (Rev. Donald) Walker of Augusta, GA, and Dexter Hosley of Milner, GA; aunts, Beula Anderson of Greenville, SC, Rosa Lee McCuthison of Chattanooga, TN, and Mary Alice Williams of Atlanta, GA; brother-in-law, Robert Bateman of Milner, GA; long-time partner, Rosa Bowles of Barnesville, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends who will miss him dearly.
