Obituary For Eddie George Durham

Mr. Eddie George Durham was born on December 18, l950, to the late Mrs. Addie Lee Johnson Durham and the late Mr. Willie Clarence Durham in Thomaston, Upson County, Georgia.

At an early age, he joined the Springfield Missionary Baptist Church. He was educated in the public school of Upson County and attended Drake High School.

He was the father of one son, Eddie Maurice Durham. He worked several jobs during his lifetime to support his family. He was employed by Thomaston Mills and later by the Department of Transportation as a maintenance worker. He was faithful on his job and dependable.

During his leisure time, he enjoyed watching sports, westerns, liked old school hot rods, spending time with his nieces and nephews and feasting on his favorite foods, peach cobbler and banana pudding.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Christine Walker and Jackie Grant, four brothers, Charlie Durham, Tommy Lee Gilbert, Willie Durham, Jr. and Thomas James Durham. On Tuesday, September 10, 2024, the Lord called his name. He answered the call and went home to eternal rest.

He leaves to cherish his memory one son, Mr. Eddie Maurice Durham (Kelly Little) of Manchester, GA; one grandson, Jamerio Durham; step-daughter, Shareka Ellerbee of Thomaston, GA and five step-grandchildren; a niece who was more like a daughter, Ms. Robin Durham of Thomaston, GA; two sisters, Mrs. Amanda (Willie) Wilkins of Concord, GA and Mrs. Savannah (Marcus) Kendall of Thomaston, GA; two brothers, Mr. Johnny Durham and Mr. Alva (Erica) Durham both of Thomaston, GA; one uncle, Mr. Thomas (Nina) Johnson of East Point, GA; a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
