Mrs. Alma Blance McCray, the daughter of the late Mrs. Mollie Jones Stephens and the late Mr. John Thomas Stephens, was born on May 6, 1926, in Monroe County, GA.
Mrs. Alma attended the Monroe Public County School in Culloden, GA and worked at the Bibb Mill, Forsyth Plant in Forsyth, GA. During her womanhood, she met and married Mr. Willie Thomas McCray. To this union, one son was born, Willie Thomas McCray, Jr.
In reviewing our church records in the early 1950's for the Orange Grove Baptist Church, she served as secretary of the choir, active in the Sunday School Association and worked with the ward leaders in giving her assessments.
During her leisure time, she enjoyed being with family and friends, loved going to church and dressing for church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, John Stephens, Robert Lee Stephens and Owen Stephens. On Monday, March 11, 2024, the Lord called her name. She answered the call and went home to be at rest.
She leaves to mourn her passing, one son, Mr. Willie Thomas (Mary Ruth) McCray of Culloden; two grandchildren, Mr. Jeffery Lamar McCray; three great-grandchildren also survived; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friend.
