Obituary For Darius A. Mickens

Darius Antawne Mickens was born to Daryl and Hilda Primus Mickens on February 5, 1982.

Darius attended Fuquay-Varina, NC but obtained his GED from Wake Technical Community College in Raleigh, NC. Later in life, he attended Roadmasters Trucking School and become a professional commercial truck driver.

Darius could easily be known as the life of the party, he loved to dance, crack jokes and make others laugh. Darius was kind, loving and could make friends anywhere he went. Even, as his health began to decline, he still loved to crack jokes and made sure those around him were taken care of.

Wednesday, August 16, 2023, Darius departed from his earthly home. He passed away at Duke University Hospital located in Durham, NC. And was proceeded in death by his maternal grandfather and grandmother, Frank and Thema McKoy, and his paternal grandfather and grandmother, Elijah and Ruby Mickens and two uncles, Antonio Primus and Dexter Mickens.

Darius leaves to cherish his memories: his partner Ava, his daughters Harley, Audrianna and Abigail. His mother Hilda Staten, stepfather Daniel Staten, brother Kenatha (Sabrina) Primus, and sister Danielle (Brandon) Porchea. His father Daryl Mickens, stepmother Phyllis Mickens and sister Shaudrika Morgan. Two Nephews: Elliott Primus and Brendan Porchea, and two nieces: Ella Primus and Brielle Porchea and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Viewing: 4:00 - 6:00 pm Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at Trice Funeral Home Chapel, 127 N. West Street in Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526.

Funeral will be held at 12:00 pm Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Redeemed Apostolic Church, 1480 Purfoy Road in Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526.
