Obituary For Christine Barnes

Christine Jones Barnes, born on August 5, 1925 (97 years old), was granted her wings, and was called to her heavenly home on May 25, 2023.

Christine was born to the late Connie and Bertha (Lofton) Jones in Duplin County. She was educated in the Duplin County Public School System.

She was married to Samuel Barnes and was blessed with a loving family and many who loved her dearly.

Christine was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Barnes; her two sons, Joseph and Kenneth Barnes; five brothers, James Jones, Horace Jones, Jimmey Jones, Bernice Jones and Raymond Jones; and one sister, Connie Mixon.

Those remaining to cherish her memory and fulfill her legacy are her three sons, John Wiley (Shirley) of Louisburg, NC, Samuel Ray Barnes (Gloria) and Charles Alexander Barnes of Fuquay-Varina, NC; three daughters, Shirley Jones and Carolyn Barnes of Fuquay-Varina, NC and Sherri Yates (Harry) of Louisburg, NC; two sisters, Edna Taylor (Charles) of Fuquay-Varina, NC and Helen Sanders of Round Rock, Texas; one sister-in-law, Vivian Jones of Dudley, NC.

Christine is also survived by several great-grandchildren, grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral will be held at 1:30 pm Friday, June 2, 2023 at Trice Funeral Home Chapel, 127 N. West Street in Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526., no more than 80 people will be allowed to attend the service.

Burial: Starlight Memorial Gardens, Lois Lane in Holly Springs, NC 27540.
