On January 21, 2024, God notified me that my mansion in heaven was complete and I could move in. He told me to go ahead and change my address! Well, my new home is finished and what a sight to behold!! It is located in an exclusive estate area behind the Pearlie Gates. This is now my home!

Albert Bell, also known as ‘’HOT’’, was born to Willie and Alberta Bell in Jackson, Mississippi on July 9, 1937.

He relocated from Jackson, Mississippi to Rockford, Illinois in 1955. During his tenure in Rockford, he worked at Nobles Barber Shop on South Main Street for many years. Albert began a nine year political career as a member of the Winnebago County Board. He returned to Jackson in 1977 and founded Al’s Style House with two locations: Subdivision #2 and Flora, Mississippi. During his time in Jackson, Albert was a member of Greater Pearlie Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

Albert relocated to Talladega, Alabama and reconnected with a long-time friend, Noble Crockrom. Mr. Bell united with Howard Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church under the leadership of Pastor Victor Griffin where he sang in the choir. The move reignited his passion for politics. He became a delegate to Democratic National Convention on three different occasions, beginning in 1996, representing Talladega County. Albert served as Chairman of the Talladega County Chapter of the Alabama New South Coalition, Vice Chairman with Talladega County Democratic Conference Roster and served as a Black Deputy Registrar. Additionally, Albert was involved in other various political activist entities such as the NAACP. Albert and Virginia established and operated Bell’s Barber & Style Shop in the Howell Cove community. Albert enjoyed traveling whether it be by highways or waterways. Cruising aboard ships was his favorite.

Mr. Bell was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Alberta Bell; and eleven siblings.

Albert is leaving behind to cherish many loving memories: his wife of 32 years, Virginia Bell; four children, Patty “Carol Sue” Gulley and Ida Black of Las Vegas, Nevada, Alsaskin (Estella) Bell and Jeanette Bell of Jackson, Mississippi; his only surviving sister, Bessie Mae Bell of Houston, Texas; twelve grandchildren, Vanessa Edmons, Lakeitha Johnson, Tangela Turner, Alverrecho Bell, Jesse Black, Alvarez Bell, Aljajuan Bell, Chasity Davis, Staciea Oged, Sir Gregory Johnson, Aerio Cross and Drell Gulley; twenty-six great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren; mother-in-law, Laura Hawkins of Bolton, Mississippi; six sisters-in-law and five brothers-in law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
